Lecture 04 of the Complete Python Course by Dhaka College IT Club (DCITC). In this Bangla-explained, beginner-friendly lecture, Md. Samiul Islam teaches you Python data types, the type() function, and the isinstance() function from scratch in simple language.
Already know variables? Now learn what kind of values they can hold. No prior coding knowledge needed.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN IN THIS VIDEO
What a data type is in Python
What "dynamically typed" means and how Python decides a variable's type
How a variable can change its type when you assign a new value
The 4 common data types: integer (int), float, string (str), and boolean (bool)
How to check a variable's type using the type() function
What the output class 'str' actually means
The TypeError you get when type() is called without an argument
Why a string like '12' cannot be divided by a number
How to verify a type using the isinstance() function (True or False)
How to check multiple types at once, like isinstance(x, (int, float))
The difference between type() and isinstance()

ABOUT THIS COURSE
This playlist takes you from basic to advanced Python: variables, data types, loops, functions, strings, lists, dictionaries, sets, error handling, object-oriented programming, and data structures and algorithms. After the key concepts we build small projects, so you practice what you learn instead of only watching.
Watch the full playlist: • Python Basic To Advanced Complete Playlist...
PRACTICE TASK
Create four variables: your name (string), your age (integer), your height in feet (float), and whether you are a student (boolean). Print the type of each one using type(), then use isinstance() to check one of them. Share your code in the comments, and I will check it!
A small request: don't just watch, pause and try every example yourself. If this lecture helped you, like the video, subscribe to the channel and share the course with a friend who wants to learn coding.
