We met Maa for the very first time in April 2026.
We had heard her songs. We knew of her. But when we saw her sing live for the first time, we had no idea we were stepping into an experience that would stay with us and open something within us that we had never felt before.
After her performance, we ran backstage to meet Maa and receive her blessings. There was something so special at that moment. I always feel like a little child in front of her, wanting to sit beside her, listen to her stories, and simply be mesmerised when she sings. It feels like you enter a trance. I still wonder if this is how Krishna’s flute might have sounded.
A few months later, Maa came to Rishikesh. We jumped at the opportunity to invite her for a conversation. The Baul Sampradaya is so precious. It deserves to reach every home across Bharat. It can heal you, transform you, and help you evolve. Believe me, when you hear a Baul sing live, you feel in your heart that it is not just a human voice. There is something truly divine in it.
Today is Maa’s birthday, and we wanted to share this conversation with her on this special day. What can we even offer to the great saints who have given so much to Bharat? Maa has kept this lineage alive and breathing, giving it so much love and life.
If, in this lifetime, you ever get the chance, run to sit beside Maa and listen to her sing. I’m sure something within you will shift, too.
