🚗🌾 Driving Through Clift Farm in Madison, Alabama | From Farmland to a Growing Community!

On this episode of Rediscovering Huntsville, come ride with me as I drive through Clift Farm in Madison, Alabama and take a look at how this historic piece of North Alabama has transformed into one of the area’s fastest-growing communities. Long before the restaurants, shops, neighborhoods, and busy streets, this land was part of the Clift family farm. The Clift family’s connection to the property dates back to 1850, when John Henry Clift began purchasing farmland in what was then known as Madison Station. For generations, the family farmed crops including cotton, corn, soybeans, fruits, and vegetables. (Clift Farm⁠) The historic Clift “Home Place” was officially recognized as an Alabama Century Farm in 1990, honoring property that had remained in the same family for more than 100 years. (Alabama Agriculture & Industries⁠) In 2018, Jack Clift and his family celebrated the groundbreaking of the modern Clift Farm development. Even as the land transitioned from agriculture to a mixed-use community, developers kept the Clift Farm name and named Jack Clift Boulevard in recognition of the family’s long history here.
