Max depth: 23.5 - 24,1 m Water temperature: 13,2 - 15 °C Dive time: 50 - 48 min —————————- Two dives at Javi Point, one of the best-known dive sites near Cudillero, on the Asturian coast of the Cantabrian Sea. Visibility was rather limited, but the rocks held much of the marine life typically found in these waters. Scorpionfish rested on the bottom, small gobies occupied the rocky areas, while bright orange sea stars and gorgonians added colour to the landscape. Several groups of pouting moved together between the rocks, along and other small fish using the gorgonians and rocky formations for shelter. Conger eels remained hidden inside the crevices, as they often do during the day. One of these shelters provided the most unusual scene of the two dives: a velvet swimming crab and a conger eel were sharing the same crevice, with a small shrimp positioned between them. Javi Point is a dive of rocks, cracks and small shelters. There are no large encounters here; much of its marine life is discovered simply by slowing down and looking carefully into the reef.
