Community First: Lyell Avenue Business Association Hosts Neighborhood Cookout

GSL News was on the ground on Rochester's West Side as the Lyell Avenue Business Association hosted a community cookout, bringing together local families, business owners, and neighbors for an afternoon of unity, celebration, and neighborhood action. The free neighborhood gathering featured family-friendly entertainment, including bounce houses, a live DJ, delicious food, and access to vital community resources provided by local organizations. Beyond the festivities, leadership and organizers issued a direct call to action to area residents, urging the community to unite in keeping the corridor clean, clearing litter, and taking active pride in improving overall quality of life along Lyell Avenue. The event highlights ongoing, grassroots efforts by local merchants and residents to revitalize commercial hubs, foster safety, and build a cleaner, stronger neighborhood environment across Northwest Rochester.
