Come Autumn, and The Stop-Gaps Cultural Academy brings to it audiences, once again “YOUNGER THAN SPRINGTIME” - The Children’s Choir Festival 2021. The Academy has always worked to bring people together through the medium of harmony. There is no class, caste or religion when we join together and sing - hearts reach out and voices carry messages of peace, love and understanding. Children are the future and The Stop-Gaps have always endeavoured to provide a platform for young singers and musicians, with ‘The Budding Brigade’ Concerts and the Children’s Choir Festival every year. The Theme of this year’s Children’s Choir Festival - “PRESERVATION OF NATURE AND ENVIRONMENT”, is aimed at encouraging and promoting choral/choir singing among children, and endeavours to foster a spirit of caring and nurturing Mother Earth. Hosted by none other than Erica D’Souza of 94.3 RadioOne FM fame, “Younger than Springtime” is a virtual concert this year, adhering to the pandemic precautions, but encouraging young talent nonetheless and ensuring that our young ones are happy “Bridging the World with Song” ! This year, the participating choirs and schools are: ‘The Singing Tree’ (The Mehli Mehta Music Foundation), ‘Bosco Serenade’ (Don Bosco International School), ‘Ektaal Children’s Choir’ from Goa, ‘The Beatz Crew’ (RBK International Academy), and our hosting choir, The Stop-Gaps Junior Choral Ensemble (The Stop-Gaps Cultural Academy).
