Posting videos on You Tube? Could it be for, Creativity, Community & the Joy of Making?

Why do I bother posting videos on YouTube? Five years ago I started this creative journey with fabric and paper crafts — not to build a huge channel, but to give myself a reason to keep creating and exploring. In this video, I reflect on the real reasons I keep going: the joy of making, the constant learning, and the beautiful connections I’ve made with other crafters from all over the world. Through junk journaling, needle books, collage masterboards, and slow crafting, I’ve found not just new creative skills — but a community of kind, encouraging people who share the same love of creativity. Even though many of us may never meet in person, the bonds we create through this hobby feel very real and very special. I also talk about something I feel strongly about — creating without pressure. Creativity naturally ebbs and flows, and I give myself permission to take breaks when I need to and come back refreshed and inspired. There’s no rush — just enjoyment of the process. YouTube has also been a wonderful learning curve — from developing my art style to building skills in filming and editing. I’m always discovering new techniques, new hobbies, and even inspiring charities doing incredible work — all thanks to the creative world online.
