Evaluation and Credit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2026AC...
Target Audience
This activity is directed at physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and social workers.
Statement of Need
As congenital heart disease often is underrepresented in standard medical and nursing curricula, there is a pressing need for healthcare providers to be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to care holistically for this patient population as it ages. This symposium aims to address this gap by providing specialized education and training to ensure that adult congenital heart disease patients receive the appropriate and comprehensive care they require.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to:
1. Understand the scope of congenital heart disease.
2. Describe how ACHD heart failure is different.
3. Create a strategy to fix residual lesions and arrhythmias.
4. Identify a phenotype-specific approach to drug therapy.
5. Describe advanced therapies for heart failure and the ideal referral window.
6. Discuss advance care planning.
