Pamela Anderson at Venice: The Last Showgirl Role That Almost Never Reached Her

Pamela Anderson arrived at Venice on September 9, 2026, with Place to Be. But one of the roles that helped bring her to this chapter nearly failed to reach her: Gia Coppola says Anderson's then-agent rejected the first approach for The Last Showgirl within an hour. The Famous Few follows the work behind the headlines: Baywatch, six hours of training for Chicago, the documentary that caught Coppola's attention, an eighteen-day film shoot, The Naked Gun and a supporting role alongside Ellen Burstyn in Venice. Which Pamela performance changed the way you saw her? Tell us below and subscribe to The Famous Few. Production: Original documentary commentary with synthetic narration using the Brittney voice. Visuals use actual archival, interview, trailer and event footage; the synthetic narrator is not Pamela Anderson. Sources and footage credits follow.
