Pink Floyd - Live in Uniondale (February 28th, 1980)

Taper: Barry Glassberg This would be the final North American show of Rogers' tenure within the band. The band had a million-dollar offer per night to play at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, but Roger vehemently refused to play and threatened to leave. Backup plan for that was to have Andy Bown sing... Going back on topic, this show is VERY famous, being one of the most famous Floyd bootlegs of all time, having circulating back in the 80s and 90s on bootlegged vinyl records on the market, and for good reason. It is a STUNNING recording of the band, a highlight in audience recording lore that should be studied by fans of other bands. The show was taped by Mr. Barry Glassberg, who used 2 Nakamichi CM700 microphones, on a Sony TC-D5M deck. Incredibly expensive gear at the time, and I am grateful for his efforts in bringing in such good gear to tape such a historic show for the band. The show itself is... not their best effort. The band is tired, after performing non stop since February 24th, plus the Los Angeles leg earlier in the month, and it shows on the performances. After bringing a gong for Waiting For The Worms, the band decides not to bring it back (for whatever reason), and it's been said all of Nassau was taped by the band for testing purposes in August of that year. Hopefully proof surfaces of this claim.
