Despite restrictions, check gates and barricades, some Kotia voters reportedly crossed into Andhra Pradesh and cast their votes. The issue has raised questions over how their names remained on the electoral rolls of both states even after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). BJD alleged that the Kotia elections exposed flaws in the SIR process, while Congress accused the state government of deliberately allowing Andhra Pradesh to conduct the polls. Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan countered the allegations, blaming the previous BJD government for failing to act and warning that action should be taken against voters who defied restrictions. Koraput Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan questioned the reported voter turnout figures released by Andhra Pradesh, calling them suspicious. He said ground reports suggested that voting in Kotia may have been no more than 10%, significantly lower than in 2021.
