What Really Happens When an Undersea Internet Cable Breaks?

This film follows the hidden infrastructure behind the internet: how one request crosses an ocean as pulses of light, what happens when a submarine cable breaks, how traffic is rerouted, and how repair ships recover a damaged line from the seabed. It also looks at AWS’s planned Sta’O’Nuk route, Honomoana, Google Cloud’s Americas Connect and the proposed Polar Connect corridor — then asks whether new cables create truly independent paths or only add capacity to the same geographic weak points.
