Carving into the Himalayas - The incredible Road from Padum to Leh via Chilling I Zanskar + Ladakh

Eigentlich entdecke ich Landschaften lieber zu Fuß. Aber manchmal ist es auch schön, im Auto zu sitzen und zu staunen. Über die Landschaft und darüber, was für eine Straße man hier zwischen die Felsen gefräst hat. Während man noch vor wenigen Jahren 2 Tage brauchte, um von Padum nach Leh zu gelangen und dieses auch nur ca. 6 Monate möglich war, ist die Fahrtzeit nun auf 4-5 Stunden verkürzt und ganzjährig möglich. Unglaublich! Actually, I prefer to discover landscapes on foot. But sometimes it is also nice to just sit in the car and marvel. Marvel at the landscape and at the kind of road they have carved into the cliffs here. While just a few years ago it took two days to get from Padum to Leh—and even that was only possible for about six months of the year—the travel time has now been cut down to 4–5 hours and is possible year-round. Incredible!
