The Korean way to use Vaseline on your face: why the jar in your drawer never worked for you, and the order my mother taught me.
Most women use vaseline in the wrong order and decide it does nothing. In this routine, Young-hee shares the old Korean way: what to do in the first minute after washing, how a little rice water or plain water goes on first, why the jelly is a thin seal over damp skin and not a moisturizer, the pea-sized amount and the gentle press, a grain of rice around the eyes, why it’s an evening step only, and the cotton-glove trick for hands. She ends with jeongseong, doing everything slowly and with your whole heart.
Tonight’s one thing: wash your face, leave it a little damp, pat on rice water or plain water, count to thirty, and press a pea of jelly over it.
Tell me in the comments where in the world you are watching from, and how many years your little jar has been waiting in the drawer.

Patch test on the inside of your wrist first. If your skin is oily or breaks out easily, use it only on dry areas. If you use a prescription cream, follow your doctor’s advice. Keep petroleum jelly out of your eyes. If your skin is red, sore, or itchy, please see your doctor.
