Tale of a Kathaka: Traditional Kathak Solo by Antara Bhardwaj

Disciple of Kathak Master, Pandit Chitresh Das -- Antara Bhardwaj performs a traditional Kathak solo -- showcasing the four elements essential to the dance -- tayari (technique), layakari (playing with rhythm), khoobsurti (beauty), and nazaakat (delicacy). The dancer also performs a full gat bhao, or story, playing the multiple roles herself. Accompanied by her Guru ji, Pandit Chitresh Das, as well as Jayanta Banerjee (sitar), Debashis Sarkar (vocals), and Javad Butah (tabla).
