The same soft piano and gentle rain recipe as our 3.5-hour black screen video, a different piece, black screen, all night (8 hours). Eight hours on a black screen, so it is still playing if you wake at three in the morning — same rain and piano recipe, a different piece, nothing on screen to light the room. Original procedural composition generated by our own code, performed with recordings of the Salamander Grand Piano V3 by Alexander Holm (CC BY 3.0); the rain is a real field recording by Jacques Richer (CC BY 2.5). The piano part is never looped — every phrase, chord and dynamic is generated for this video. Synthetic-media disclosure is on. Same measured sound recipe as our rain video — no drone layer — the tonal bed is off (its measured contribution to the mix is exactly zero); the only thing under the piano is the rain; gentle rain from a real field recording (CC BY, credited below) — two excerpts of different length interleaved; each excerpt loops, but the combined rain bed does not repeat within this video, kept 9–18 dB under the piano (sample-verified on our rendering profile); no thunder — the rain was screened for low-frequency bursts before use (per-second low-frequency energy never runs more than 8 dB above its own median, measured on our rendering profile of the rain layer alone); thin in the low end — under 8% of the rain layer's energy sits below 200 Hz, measured on our rendering profile of the rain layer alone — plus a different piece (different composition seed) and a black screen throughout.
