Which city do more international tourists visit than any other? We follow the world's 10 most visited cities, year by year, from 1995 to 2025. London and Paris trade the lead in the '90s. Paris holds the #1 spot until 2005. Then Hong Kong takes over, powered by visitors from mainland China, and Bangkok climbs all the way to the top. COVID empties the world's great cities almost overnight and briefly reshuffles the ranking. By 2025, Bangkok leads with about 30 million international arrivals. Where does your city rank? Tell us in the comments. 📊 About the data The ranking counts international arrivals only (visitors from other countries), not domestic tourists. 2010–2019 and 2023–2025: Euromonitor International, Top 100 City Destinations. 1995–2009 and 2020–2022: estimates by Rank & Reveal, built from official city and national tourism statistics and aligned to Euromonitor's figures.
