Before you can support someone well, you have to learn how they actually work — not how you assume they work, and not how a reasonable person ought to. This is about the study that every trusted partnership is built on. A new boss is a blank page, and most people waste the first two weeks keeping their heads down and waiting to be told. That silence does not read as humility; it reads as passivity. In this video I show you what to ask in those first days, how to read the way a person takes in information and makes decisions, and how to find the three things that they genuinely care about, so you can pour your effort where it counts. I also cover the delivery itself: matching your message to the channel and the length your boss actually wants, so working with you begins to feel like the absence of friction. And we look upward — at the weight your boss carries, the people they answer to, the pressure that arrives through them and lands on you. Understand that, and half of their behaviour explains itself. Study the person before you serve them. Learn how they think, how they decide, how they like to be met — and the work almost does itself.
