Railroad Crossing | Gage Avenue (3), Hamilton, ON

Locomotive consist: CN 7068 - GMD GP9RM - Old CN Noodle CN 7032 - GMD GP9RM - Old CN Noodle This crossing is located on the CP (CPKC) Hamilton Industrial Lead. Horn setting: Quiet zone. Cantilever on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 12x20" lights with GE/Harmon LEDs and 2 pairs of WCH 12x20" lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs. WRRS Rotatable cantilever on the right: 4 pairs of WCH 12x20" lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs and a WRRS mechanical bell. After filming a couple crossings in Hamilton that evening, the sun was quickly setting. So, I decided to make my way back towards Mississauga. While heading back though, I managed to see a train running along the CPKC Hamilton Beltline. So, I quickly parked my car and headed out to this crossing. It only took a minute after I started recording for the crossing to active, and this evening CN Beltline job to come through with a pair of classic GP9RMs. This crossing was quite a nice one. There were originally a pair of WRRS rotatable cantilevers installed by the TH&B in the early 1970s, which featured WRRS equipment from top to bottom. The lights were replaced in 2017 with the current LEDs, and the far cantilever was replaced rather recently at the time of recording. Since then, the original WRRS mechanical bell was sadly replaced with a WCH E-Bell. Rather thankful I got this crossing recorded while it still retained most of its original equipment.
