The Queen's Youngest Daughter Would Not Sleep Until Her Human Protector Came Back | FHY Stories For three nights, the youngest daughter of the Queen of Sevarune stood on the water stair in her nightgown and refused to go to bed. She was waiting for a short, gray-haired human sergeant who had promised to come back before Lantern Tide, and she did not intend to be the one to let go of that promise. Told through the eyes of the palace's oldest resident, a hundred-and-sixty-three-year-old great-aunt who watches everything from behind a carved lattice, this warm found-family story follows a canal city getting ready for its greatest festival, a stubborn court cousin with a grievance, a nursemaid who has not slept in six years, and a battered tin lamp that was bought for two chips from a salvage stall. Nobody realizes what that cheap bargain is hiding until the lamp is opened, and a voice from sixty years ago begins to sing. A gentle, funny, cozy tale about kindness, keeping your word, small promises that turn into family, and the way an old sorrow can come home on a river barge. Perfect for fans of wholesome human and alien stories, slow-burn found family, royal court comfort reads, and sleepy listening at the end of a long day. Settle in, put the kettle on, and wait for the last lantern. #WholesomeSciFi #FoundFamily #AlienQueen #HumanAndAlien #CozyStory #AlienPrincess #HeartwarmingStory #SciFiNarration #BedtimeStory #LanternFestival
