Ninety minutes of plain, steady Anatolian strings for focused work. Kanun and baglama over a constant low drone. No lyrics, no drums, no surprises. ──────────────────── WHY IT IS DELIBERATELY BORING Most "focus music" fails for the same reason: it is interesting. A melody you can follow is a melody that takes a share of your attention, and that share comes out of the work. So this session has no solos, no key changes, no swells and no moment where anything arrives. The strings move in gentle repeating patterns that go nowhere in particular. The dynamics stay flat from the first minute to the last. It is built to be forgettable while it is playing — that is the feature, not a shortcoming. If you find yourself noticing the music, turn it down rather than off. It works best sitting just under the threshold of attention. ──────────────────── WHY NINETY MINUTES Ninety minutes provides a long listening block. Work at your own pace and take breaks whenever you need them; this is not a prescribed biological cycle. No timer chimes and no interruptions. The end of the audio is your signal. ──────────────────── WHAT YOU'RE HEARING The kanun is a flat trapezoidal zither of around 72 strings, plucked with picks worn on the index fingers. The baglama is a long-necked lute, the most widely played instrument in Anatolia. Both are fretted or tuned to intervals smaller than Western semitones, which is why the texture sounds slightly unfamiliar without ever becoming strange. The mode is makam Kurdi — plain, grounded, unsentimental. Around 62 beats per minute. ──────────────────── GOOD FOR • Deep work and long focus blocks • Studying and exam preparation • Writing, coding and design work • Reading dense material • Any task where lyrics get in the way Chapters: 00:00 Starting the block 22:30 Settled 45:00 Halfway 67:30 Final stretch Music and visuals in this session were created with AI tools, then selected, arranged and edited for this release.
