Why do African health innovations struggle to reach the systems and communities that need them most? At TAMC 2025, the session “Bridging Innovation and Access: Voices from the Field” explored the structural and operational barriers affecting the adoption and scaling of health innovations across Africa, while examining the role of market shaping in strengthening pathways to adoption, procurement, and long-term sustainability. The session opened with a presentations from Maureen Njoroge of E&K Consulting Firm who shared insights from the Million Lives Collective on strengthening how innovators engage with governments and build the institutional alignment needed for large-scale adoption across health systems and Dr. Bereket Zelalem from Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health, who shared perspectives on ecosystem coordination, policy reform, and innovation frameworks supporting long-term market growth and resilience. This was followed by the panel discussion moderated by Khatuchi Khasanti from Lemelson Foundation and featured Washington Dinga from Neopenda, Dick Oranja from Hatch Technologies, and Jamie Arkin from AI Diagnostics. The session emphasized the importance of mission-driven partnerships, flexible market strategies, trust-building, and stronger collaboration across the ecosystem. Watch the full session to explore how innovators, governments, and ecosystem partners can work together to improve market access for African health innovations. #TAMC2025 Join us at #TAMC2026 as we continue advancing conversations around healthcare innovation and ecosystem strengthening across Africa.
