my unexpected favorite of the balkans? summer nights, old town & kravica waterfall (pt. 2)

If you're planning a trip to Mostar, here are some places we visited and a few things I wish we'd known beforehand! 📍 places we visited Mostar Old Town & Stari Most (the Old Bridge) Kravica Waterfall — a day trip from Mostar Počitelj, a small historic settlement we stopped at during our tour Restoran Labirint Ašċinica NAR Cafe Terrace Pasha 🍽️ food & little things we tried Ćevapi Ice cream with Plazma biscuits Burek Freshly squeezed pomegranate juice! Turkish coffee, baklava, and hurmašice 💡 a few travel tips for Mostar Bring cash. It's useful for smaller shops, cafés, transport, and some attractions. We found it easiest to withdraw money from an ATM once we arrived. The local currency is the Bosnian convertible mark (BAM/KM), so I'd recommend having some local currency rather than relying entirely on euros. Quite a lot of places do accept euros. Always check the exchange rate and any ATM fees before withdrawing. They do accept cards in supermarkets. Have a data plan for taxis. We didn't have mobile data to call a local taxi, so getting one was a little adventure of its own hahaha. We ended up finding one the manual way and also asked our hotel owner for help. Having data makes it much easier to look up local taxi numbers and arrange a ride. Consider booking a tour to Kravica Waterfall. We thought about figuring out public transport and taxis ourselves, but it sounded like too much hassle. Booking a tour made the day much easier, especially since we were traveling between several Balkan countries. Definitely bring cash for Kravica. Stay for the evening atmosphere. Mostar felt completely different after sunset. We loved wandering around, getting ice cream, listening to live music, and simply enjoying the streets without rushing anywhere.
