Round 14 of the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship delivered another thrilling contest at Thruxton, as NAPA Racing UK's Ash Sutton claimed victory to further extend his lead at the top of the championship standings.
After finishing second in the opening race, Sutton wasted no time in taking control as he capitalised on an early mistake from Race 1 winner Josh Cook. The Speedworks Corolla Racing driver ran wide on the opening lap, allowing Sutton's #116 Ford Focus to slip through into the lead.
From there, the four-time champion controlled the race superbly, keeping the chasing pack at bay to secure another important victory in his title campaign.
Behind him, Cook came under increasing pressure from reigning champion Tom Ingram before the pair went wheel-to-wheel through the final chicane in one of the race's defining moments. Both drivers ran beyond the limits of the circuit, with Cook spinning before recovering to continue.
The incident left Cook vulnerable to teammate Dan Cammish in the closing laps, with the pair swapping positions twice before the Toyota driver managed to hold onto third on the road.
However, a post-race ten-second penalty for Ingram due to repeated track limits infringements promoted both Cook and Cammish onto the podium alongside Sutton.
Dan Rowbottom continued Cataclean Plato Racing's impressive weekend with fourth place, while Ingram was classified fifth following his penalty. Restart Racing's James Dorlin produced another outstanding drive to finish sixth and claim Independent Drivers' honours.
Adam Morgan finished seventh ahead of Mikey Doble, while Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport teammates Árón Taylor-Smith and Gordon Shedden completed the top ten.
