The Lesser-known Churches of Venice – Italy

While St Mark’s may be Venice’s most famous religious site, the city is home to many lesser-known yet equally stunning churches. I’ve explored five of them, such as I Gesuiti (Santa Maria Assunta) and the Scalzi Church (Santa Maria di Nazareth). And, there’s even an exciting archaeological discovery underway at the Church of San Zaccaria, where the crypt is being drained to uncover secrets buried beneath the concrete floor. Could the doges truly be resting there? Time will tell.
