You must be crushed and broken in order to understand why you need salvation in the first place. The Gate is Narrow because it is only through Christ that we are saved. Those who rely upon their works or anything other than the love and sacrifice of Jesus are relying on self, and will never find their way into a relationship with Christ. Jesus told us that many will be standing outside the Narrow Gate saying, “Lord, Lord, we’ve done so many good works in your name.” They will brag about healing, prophesying, and casting out demons, but Jesus will say, “be gone, I never knew you, you workers of lawlessness.” Christ is leading us into a relationship, not religion. Religion relies on works, as we try to forge our own pathway to Heaven. Relationship relies upon the Man of Jesus Christ. We put our trust in Him and we transcend the fear and darkness, only because He lifts us above it. Christ breathes the breath of life into us, so we are alive for the first time. This is not something we can ever accomplish on our own, because life only is found in God Himself, but a faith in Him is a deep trust that forms allegiance. (‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬-‭16‬) “The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” (‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬-‭21‬) “From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
