Prof. Gary Moore is talking with Dr. Bert Verbruggen about his legendary journey from Nijmegen to the Rapid Assay.
Dr Bert Verbruggen led the landmark study in 1995 that gave us the Nijmegen-Bethesda assay and changed the way we detect FVIII inhibitors. Prof. Gary Moore met Dr Verbuggen for a Coffee talk to discuss why and how he sought to improve the Bethesda assay, why standardisation remains difficult to achieve, how his latest innovation, the rapid FVIII inhibitor assay, came about, and why it is a potential gamechanger in routine haemostasis diagnostics.
