Martin’s Story of Grace and Multiplication | Equipping Leaders International

"I heard a drum sound... and I wanted to know where it was coming from." Martin Yarkay was just a kid when he climbed a tree in Sanniquellie, Liberia and followed the sound of a drum to a sermon that would change his life forever. But the journey from a boy in a tree to a leader of a movement wasn't easy. It was a path marked by loss, traditional sacrifices to "rocks and trees," and a financial wall that almost forced him out of Bible college before he could even begin. Then came the dining hall. Then came a professor who became a mentor. This isn't just a story about a student getting his debt cleared. It’s a story about the 2 Timothy 2:2 model in its most raw, deeply human form. It’s about what happens when a "Paul" invests in a "Timothy"... not just with dollars, but with a life-long mentorship. Today, Martin is no longer the student in the back of the class. He is the leader at the front, equipping hundreds of pastors across West Africa to rightly divide the Word of Truth. The drum is still beating. The harvest is ready.
