I don't know anything else by Camila Cabello, but there's got to be plenty more out there worth checking out. The melody is where it starts for me and there's so much going on that makes this work. It's simple, and good simple - the production has so much room to breathe, just her voice, the piano, the beat, and not a lot else, which lets you really feel the heat in the air. I love that the chorus hints at itself early, then the verse and pre-chorus sit on the same chords with just the melody changing, which is something I love doing in my own songwriting too. There's real Latin flair throughout, and that's something I've come to properly appreciate and love over the last few years. A great video to go with a great song too. 0:00 First impressions - why I wanted to react to this one 1:47 Love how the "mum" character is set up 2:02 On the Rolling Stones and Latin influence in music 4:32 What makes this song so compelling? 5:00 Simple, but good simple 5:45 The way the melody changes over the same chords 7:14 The production - just her voice, the piano, the beat 10:07 "This is dedicated to the dreamers" 🎧 More new artist discoveries and reactions coming soon. 📌 Want the extended, unedited reactions?
