Are used RC cars worth it?

Not everyone can afford name-brand, new RC cars, and facebook marketplace can be your ally or your worst nightmare, with some of the most amazing deals or seediest sellers. I'm lucky enough to live in an area where seemingly great RC Car deals come up pretty frequently... but are they any good... or did I get scammed?
