A dead bandleader's pearl-button accordion makes Leon Broussard unbeatable—but every encore erases another named road back to his parish. Told by road manager Elise Landry, this dark Louisiana ballad follows the evidence from Leon's theft of Armand Vautrin's sealed estate property to a changing map, blank destination signs, impossible-key brilliance, and one final choice before a jubilant crowd. Three named routes become two, then one, then none. The physical roads, landmarks, and Leon's childhood house remain. The loss-free Accordion Feature suggests that ordinary playing is not enough: the names vanish only after Leon answers demanded encores. Elise cannot prove the curse's cause or identify its source, but Leon admits that he believed her warning might be true and chose acclaim anyway. After the final encore, the band takes the accordion directly to Armand's executor, who records its recovery and reseals it in estate custody. “One more encore, one less road home.” A prog big band horror ballad with zydeco accordion, vivid storytelling, festive choruses, and a beautiful melody carrying a terrible consequence. 📌 If you enjoyed this: https://www.youtube.com/@DarkBalladsR...
