From the Vault: Mateba MTR-8 - One of only 500 ever made

In this "From the Vault" video, I showcase an exceptionally rare Mateba MTR-8 revolver, one of the most unusual target revolvers ever produced. Designed by the legendary Italian firearms engineer Emilio Ghisoni, the MTR-8 represents an important step in the evolution of his innovative designs. Ghisoni would later become famous for creating the Mateba Unica autorevolver and the Chiappa Rhino, both of which share many of the unconventional engineering concepts first explored in his earlier work. The MTR-8 was designed as a precision target revolver, blending traditional revolver operation with advanced features that were well ahead of their time. Its unique design, ergonomics and mechanical innovations make it a fascinating firearm for collectors and enthusiasts alike. In this video, I demonstrate the revolver's features, explain how its unique mechanism operates, show the loading and unloading process and discuss some of the issues I encountered with this particular example.
