What happens when you escape the city and step into the wild?
I joined Nature Kenya’s Wednesday Bird Walk at Paradise Lost in Kiambu County for a morning of birding, wildlife photography, beautiful forest trails and plenty of surprises. From colourful bee-eaters and flycatchers to elusive forest species, every turn offered something worth stopping for.
The highlight was spotting a Grey olive Greenbul, a new species for my life list. Come along as we explore Paradise Lost through the eyes of a birder and wildlife photographer.
Here are some of the Birds Spotted:
Red-chested Cuckoo
African Green Pigeon
African Dusky Flycatcher
Pied Crow
Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater
African Paradise Flycatcher
Yellow-billed Kite
Kikuyu White-eye
Black Cuckooshrike
Grey-olive Greenbul ( Lifer! )
Green-backed Camaroptera
