A rainy Sunday in a rice-field town in Aichi, Japan.
No talking. Just the sounds of an ordinary day.
Rice balls, a small waterfall, a trampoline park,
and lunch at a Japanese family restaurant.
---
Today's meal
Nozawana Onigiri (rice balls)
Mix chopped pickled nozawana greens into warm rice.
Wet your hands, rub a little salt on your palms,
and shape the rice into triangles.
Dashimaki Tamago (rolled omelette)
2 eggs and dashi stock. Beat together and roll
in a square pan over low heat.
Wakame Miso Soup
Dashi stock, miso, fresh wakame seaweed, and tofu.
Served with umeboshi (pickled plum), takuan
(pickled daikon), rakkyo (pickled shallots),
and kimchi.
