Inspired by horror game soundtracks with heavy, crushing atmospheres, his love of classical and hardcore music, and the idea of dissociation and abstraction from the everyday, Sentient’s distinctive sound fuses these influences resulting in a mesmerising blend of gloomy and oppressive sonic landscapes that aim to move the listener to an intangible plain outside of their field of vision. Signed to a host of some of the most forward-thinking labels in electronic music including XCPT music (IT), QEONE (DE), DNO Records (UK), RUINS (US). Skimir : Straight from the Belgian countryside, Skimir aka William (he/him) is a Bass music composer, sound engineer and soundsystem lover. Distorted basslines, analogue synths, tape noises & sharp drums are his forte. His music is a fine blend of deep melodies and upfront breaks. He used to produce under the alias of «Datra» until 2024, then felt the need of a fresh start since his sound was shifting to a new horizon.
