In this video, we explain the interlocking philosophy of an HV Line Feeder in a Double Busbar – Single Breaker substation arrangement. Interlocking is a critical part of substation control and protection, helping prevent incorrect switching operations and ensuring that circuit breakers and disconnectors are operated safely according to the designed switching logic. In Part 2, we will introduce the Double Busbar – Single Breaker arrangement and explain the basic operating philosophy of the HV line feeder, including: • Double Busbar – Single Breaker configuration • HV line feeder arrangement • Circuit Breaker (CB) and Disconnector and Earth switches operation • Busbar selection and transfer • Electrical and mechanical interlocking concepts • Conditions required for CB and disconnector operation • How interlocking prevents unsafe switching sequences • Practical examples of HV feeder switching operations This video is useful for Substation Protection Engineers, Testing & Commissioning Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and anyone working with HV/EHV substations and switchgear control systems. 🔔 Subscribe for more videos about substation protection, control, testing & commissioning, protection relays, and HV switchgear.
