Doom 64 CE - Rumble Pak: Map02 (Fast Monsters)

Rumble Pak is the evolution of the 2019 project originally known as Community Chest 64, which was a 20 map pack meant for the Doom 64 EX source port. Rumble Pak was developed for Doom 64 CE instead, and since its initial 2022 release 8 additional maps joined the original 20, for a total of 28. This is a hub style mod (like Ethereal Breakdown), where each map is accessed from a playable hub by any order. As a consequence of this format, each run also enforces a pistol start each time. That said, I'll be playing these in numerical order, as i'm not familiar with the WAD. Map 02 - ANGUISH, by Jason Dagenet The second slot is occupied by a map by the same author as the first, and it's done pretty much on the same style, with similar visuals and skybox. Map 02 is much smaller and more compact, however, with only one secret to find. The action once again takes place in a fortress like structure over a flooded ground level, this time going for a somewhat symetrical layout around a L shaped moat. The player doesn't spend much time on the water below, however, and much of the action takes place upstairs, mostly indoors, with some emphasis placed on RL engagements. This gives the player some opportunities to splatter groups of weaker enemies, such as hitscanners and imps. Careful ammo management is still necessary, unless the player doesn't mind spending quite a bit of time kiiling stronger enemies with the shotgun, as the SSG is (to my knowledge) absent.
