CSS/PMS Weekly Current Affairs Analysis | Pakistan-UAE Ties & Sino-Pakistani Border Governance
This week’s Current Affairs session examines six important developments in global politics, regional security, Pakistan’s foreign relations, and emerging geopolitical competition. The lecture begins with AI Governance and Geopolitical Rivalry, examining deregulation, sovereign control, technological competition, and strategic risks. We then analyse the Saudi–Houthi escalation and the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, focusing on regional security, maritime chokepoints, and Pakistan’s strategic dilemma. The third topic explores the escalating Red Sea Crisis, including chokepoint militarization, proxy warfare, maritime security, and its implications for global energy and trade. We then examine Sino-Pakistani border governance, CPEC connectivity, institutionalized boundary management, and the wider tripartite geopolitical context. The fifth topic analyses Pakistan–UAE bilateral dynamics, including strategic foundations, geopolitical divergence, and economic-defence convergence. Finally, we turn to Arctic Geopolitics and the growing strategic importance of Greenland, examining great-power competition, strategic sovereignty, and the evolving US–Denmark security framework.
This lecture provides original explanation, critical analysis, and exam-oriented discussion for CSS/PMS aspirants, with relevance to Current Affairs, Pakistan Affairs, International Relations, Essay Writing, and geopolitical analysis.
