What is APGAR Score? In this video, I have explained the APGAR Scoring System in easy language for Nursing Students.
APGAR Score checks newborn health at 1 minute and 5 minutes after birth.
APGAR Means:
A - Appearance (Skin Color)
P - Pulse (Heart Rate)
G - Grimace (Reflex Irritability)
A - Activity (Muscle Tone)
R - Respiration (Breathing)
Scoring:
7-10 = Normal / Reassuring
4-6 = Needs Assistance
0-3 = Needs Immediate Resuscitation
This chart is very important for LPN, LHV, Midwifery and Nursing Exams.
