This time already belongs to you. Here's the thing about the empty calendar. When there's nothing written on a day, it looks available — to your boss, to the group chat, to the friend who needs a hand moving, and sometimes even to you, with a list of chores you've been saving. "Are you free on Saturday?" is a hard question to answer honestly when the honest answer is "yes, and I want to stay that way." But rest that only happens when nobody else needs you isn't really rest. A blank space on the calendar is still a plan. It's a plan to recover, to wander, to lie on the floor and think about nothing in particular. You don't need a better excuse than that. Say no kindly. Let the phone ring once. Keep the day. A relaxing focus session for deep work, study, slow weekends, and protecting your own time.
