I'm building a cozy game on a real, round planet, from scratch in C++, with no game engine. This is Devlog 000: the first ten days. How the planet is made, how you walk on a sphere without sliding off, how the terrain, water and six biomes are generated, how it runs smoothly, and where the game is going. Then you get almost seven minutes of uncut gameplay: six days on the planet, exactly as the game plays. The idea in one sentence: Stardew Valley, on a tiny planet. You land alone on a dead world, wake its heart, grow a garden and bring the planet back to life. ⚠️ Work in progress: the models and animations you see are placeholders and will be redone. No Unity, no Unreal, no Godot. The music and sound effects in this video are the game's own: every sound is generated in code. INSPIRED BY Stardew Valley (ConcernedApe) · Astroneer (System Era) · The Planet Crafter (Miju Games) · Factorio (Wube Software) · Outer Wilds (Mobius Digital) · Dinkum · My Time at Portia. Screenshots of these games are shown for reference and commentary. If you'd like to see this planet grow, subscribe. Next devlog: the character, from an orange pill to an astronaut. #devlog #gamedev #indiegame #cpp #cozygame
