His Mom Sent the Spoiled Rich Kid to the Mountains—30 Days Later, He Begged to Stay

At home, Wang Jingze turned away the meals his mother carried to his bed. Then a Chinese reality show sent him to live with a poor family in a Yunnan mountain village for 30 days. On day one he swore he'd rather starve, die out there, or jump off the mountain than eat their food. He was eating their fried rice the same day. This is the 2014 episode of X-Change (变形计) behind China's famous "zhen xiang" meme. But the food was the easy part. This video follows what actually got to him: the village boy who gave his own city spot to his twin brother, the friend who left him out, the classroom that called him hot-tempered, and a goodbye he didn't expect to cry at. If you were Yongxiang, which part would you forgive him for first? Tell me in the comments.
