When AI can work miracles, what is an angel for? · The Angel at the Wedding

At his first wedding in seventy years, the angel discovered that the caterer could turn water into wine. An animated story about AI and miracles, for grown-ups. Elias has come to Saint Anne's with two names, a date and a blessing to deliver. While he was away the world quietly improved: the river runs clean, deserts flower, wolves live peaceably among sheep, and the bride helped build the system that manages water across the dry interior. Now the bride's mother and the groom's father, who have worked side by side for years, are quarrelling over one sentence in the wedding program: whether all this is what their ancestors were promised. With an hour to go before the service, Elias tries to help in the ways he knows, and finds that a miracle doesn't prove what it used to. The Angel at the Wedding follows him through the morning, from the caterer's table to the churchyard, where a girl is dressing her wolf for the wedding, and to the kitchen, where the bride has a question for an angel.
