From Gabala to Shahdag one of the most beautiful road trips of our Azerbaijan journey! 🇦🇿 In Episode 5, we leave Gabala and drive towards Shahdag Mountain Resort. This was a long self-drive journey through highways, toll roads, small villages and some beautiful mountain landscapes. Along the way, we take a short break at a highway stop, refuel the car and continue towards Shahdag. And as we get closer, the scenery completely changes, lush green mountains, little fairytale-like houses and a beautiful river make the drive itself feel like part of the destination. We had seen many travellers say they personally preferred Gabala over Shahdag, but for us, Shahdag turned out to be even more beautiful especially because we visited during summer when everything was so green and scenic.
