Join Congregation Ohr Chadash in welcoming Shabbat with the traditional hymn, Lekha Dodi ("Come, My Beloved").
📜 Hebrew transliteration and English text provided on screen so you can easily follow along, chant, and pray with us.
About Lekha Dodi:
Composed in the 16th century by Kabbalist Rabbi Shlomo Alkabetz in Safed, Lekha Dodi (also commonly transliterated Lecha Dodi or L'Cha Dodi) is sung during Friday evening Kabbalat Shabbat services to greet the Sabbath presence as a beloved bride.
📖 Refrain:
L’kha dodi likrat kalah, p’nay shabbat n’kab’lah.
("Come, my friend, meet the bride; let us welcome the presence of the Sabbath.")
