Jaga´s Journey

Deep in the Polish mountains lies an old village. It used to be filled with happy people, working together to get by and telling each other stories about the magical creatures that inhabit the wild nature surrounding the village. But those times are gone... Jaga's Journey is based on local legends of south-west Poland. The characters are played by guests of Nemoland. Filmed at several locations in and around Nemoland in the summer of 2024. The film JAGA'S JOURNEY is the sixth film made by the Dutch filmmaker and artist Machiel Spruijt in Nemoland in Kopaniec-Międzylesie (municipality of Stara Kamienica). His films tell of the old legends of the Nemoland area, the village of Chromiec and its Polish inhabitants, the nature of Nemoland and cultural events in Nemoland with the theme: ‘Africa meets Poland’. The latest film WANDERING JAGI is not a romantic fairy tale, but raises an important issue: how local legends can inspire and support the fight against climate change, ecocide and pollution and connect people to the land. Nemoland is an international project involving youth groups. Young people from France, Belgium and Poland enthusiastically participated in the making of this film. Although there is also an English and French version, Nemo also created a Polish-language version of this film to stimulate cultural exchange and to continue filming projects especially with Polish youth groups in Polish Nemoland.
