The First Battle

Track 1 of 10 - Keeper of the Northern Shore The First Battle tells the story of a young Viking warrior facing his first test of courage. As fear meets duty, he discovers that true bravery is not the absence of fear, but the strength to stand beside those who fight with him. Lyrics: [Verse 1] I lace my boots at dawn Cold iron in my palm My father’s line runs deep No songs have sung my name I stand among the mighty ones Their faces carved by storms My hands won’t quit their shaking Still I walk to where they form [Pre-Chorus] I hear it in the pine wind I hear it in my bones The road of ash is calling And I can’t leave it alone [Chorus] By axe and shield, I make my plea Odin, bring me home to see Another sunrise, strong and free Before the shadows swallow me [Verse 2] The longboats bite the waves Oars splash like breaking shields Men shout the old names out As foam flies off the keel Shoulder to shoulder we stand A wall of silver hide Spear in hand, I hold my breath While thunder rolls outside [Pre-Chorus] Then the cry cuts through the mist Like fire through winter stone My heart beats hard as hammer And I know I’m not alone [Chorus] By axe and shield, I make my plea Odin, bring me home to see Another sunrise, strong and free Before the shadows swallow me [Bridge] When the first men fall around me My knees learn how to stay The boy in me is silent The man begins to pray I do not ask for glory I ask to see the shore If I must meet the wolves tonight Let my name still roar [Final Chorus] By axe and shield, I make my plea Odin, bring me home to see Another sunrise, strong and free Before the shadows swallow me By axe and shield, I make my plea Odin, bring me home to see (Another sunrise, strong and free) (Before the shadows swallow me) Credits Lyrics: Story and lyrics by Brolly Mountains, with AI-assisted lyric development.
