Har ki Pauri in Haridwar is one of the holiest and most significant ghats (river steps) in India. The name translates to “The Steps of Lord Vishnu”. At this spot, the sacred Ganges River leaves the foothills of the Himalayas and flows into the North Indian Plain for the first time.
