E02C - EcoGuard (Forest Fire Detection System)

EcoGuard is an IoT-based forest fire detection system developed to assist communities in monitoring potential fire hazards. The prototype uses an ESP32 microcontroller connected to three main sensors: DHT22 for temperature and humidity, MQ-2 for smoke detection, and a flame sensor for detecting flames. The sensor data is processed by the ESP32 to determine whether the environment is in a normal, warning, or critical condition. Through Wi-Fi connectivity, the system transmits real-time information to the Blynk application, allowing users to monitor environmental conditions remotely. EcoGuard also provides local warnings through green, yellow, and red LED indicators and a buzzer when potential hazards are detected. By combining multiple sensors, IoT connectivity, and an automated warning system, EcoGuard aims to support early detection and faster response to potential forest fires. The project demonstrates the use of accessible IoT technology as an assistive tool for environmental monitoring.
