008 The Great Descent 2026 Course Preview / The Verdugos / Loose Cannon and the Beaudry Climb

Welcome to Part 8 of The Great Descent Course Preview. Thanks as always to Let’s Ride Cyclery for putting on this awesome event. The most important part of this video is right at the start. There’s a new cafe called Loose Cannon at 2527 Canada Blvd, Glendale, CA 91208. It’s basically on the route, so if you are bonking and need some fuel, stop in and grab a pick me up. The rest of this video is the hard slog climbing roughly 1800 up the Verdugo Mountains. I made it a stand alone video so you can just avoid it or fast forward through. It’s not a thrilling one. As a reminder this is the eighth in a series of 9 videos that will be coming out 6/2-6/4/2026. I did a full pull preride video in 2024, and I felt like it was time to update it. Enjoy the series.
